Joe Collier is the visionary founder and president of Mainsail Lodging & Development, the company leading the creation of luxury real estate and resort communities in the British Virgin Islands and beyond. A Florida native, Joe earned his degree in Hotel Management and Marketing from Florida State University, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in hospitality. He went on to spend 15 years with Marriott International, gaining invaluable experience across multiple leadership roles and deepening his passion for service, operations, and development.
In 1998, Joe launched Mainsail with a mission to create distinctive hospitality experiences rooted in quality, innovation, and authenticity. What began as a small, independent venture has grown into a nationally recognized company with a portfolio that spans boutique hotels, luxury vacation homes, and residential developments across the U.S. and Caribbean. Under his leadership, Mainsail has earned accolades from Condé Nast Traveler, Wine Spectator, Marriott International, and other industry leaders.
Joe’s commitment to building lasting value through thoughtful design and strong community ties has positioned Mainsail as a trusted name in high-end hospitality and development.
